Meet Liz, the lady behind the decadent flavors and gorgeous creations.
"As the Executive Pastry Chef at Word of Mouth Catering and The Winfield Inn, I have had the great pleasure of creating wonderful pastries, breads, desserts, and beautiful wedding cakes for our clients. After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America, I headed to Lake Tahoe and then stopped in Austin to visit a friend. I decided to stay! My relationship with Word of Mouth Catering began in 1986 when I met caterer extraordinaire and owner Leslie Moore when we worked together at another Austin Catering Company . While in Austin I worked at various hotels, restaurants, and country clubs. In 1990 I moved to Hood River Oregon to quell my windsurfing obsession. While in Oregon, I bought a bakery but the pull of Austin was strong. I moved back to Austin in 1999 and owned a wedding cake company for 10 years. After that, I reconnected with Word of Mouth Catering and now work as the Executive Pastry Chef." - Liz Gifford
